Architecture Thesis

Re- Wild Architecture

I did my Bachelor’s degree in Architecture at Anna University, Chennai, India. The research-oriented curriculum and on-site programs such as Rural Settlement Study, internships, dissertation and architectural tours broadened my socio-cultural perspectives.

As a first step to explore my interest in natural heritage conservation, I leveraged my Bachelor’s degree thesis to focus on the roadblocks in conserving Indian wildlife diversity. India’s reserve forests make up 7% of the world’s biodiversity, and mitigation of human-wildlife conflict in this reserved forest can have a positive global effect. I selected the rich bio-diverse hotspot in Karnataka, India to design a mixed-use space consisting of a museum, education centre and nature experience centre. In this project titled ‘Re-Wild Architecture’, I explored ways to facilitate the coexistence of indigenous tribes, flora and fauna, tourists, and environmentalists, thereby building bridges between economy and natural heritage.
